Parent Teacher Association

Who We Are:

The Walnut Grove PTA is a non-profit, volunteer organization established to benefit students at Walnut Grove Elementary School. The goal of the PTA is to bring the staff and parents together to improve and enhance our children’s school experience. We are able to achieve this goal by:

  • Volunteering our time for school events and projects
  • Hosting school functions
  • Fostering communication between parents, staff and the district
  • Fundraising to help meet unfunded school needs.

Our nominating committee will soon be hard at work trying to find the best people to take on board positions for next school year. These are all one year positions with a 2 year maximum. We would love to have you join us! If you are interested, please contact Jill Howell, our WG Parliamentarian.

But more importantly, your membership and participation in the PTA here at Walnut Grove supports the myriad academic programs and terrific activities that make this school community such a special place. You’ll also be part of a larger organization at the state and national level that is the oldest and undeniably the best child advocacy group in the world!


PTA is the largest child advocacy organization in the United States. A not-for-profit organization of parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children.

Membership in National PTA is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health and welfare of children and youth.

The purpose of the Parent Teacher Association

To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.

To raise the standard of home life.

To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
