School Office

Lunch Menu

Check out the current menu. Lunch is $3.00 daily. You can purchase meals for your child in advance by sending a check to school with your child. Please include the student ID# and full name of the child on the check, payable to Child Nutritional Services. Please remind your child to take the check to the office before school starts for the day. Bringing it in during lunch time slows down the line.

go green initiative

The Go Green Initiative was created by then-PTA President Jill Buck in 2002. It is a simple comprehensive program designed to create a culture of environmental responsibility on school campuses across the nation. While "Go Green" is woven into the fabric of Walnut Grove by this point, we have several programs offered to students to further their involvement:

Walnut Grove Ecology Club
Open to K-5 students, the club meets afterschool on the first Tuesday of each month to provide meaningful environmental education in fun & developmentally appropriate ways. Please see the Ecology Club Permission Slip for more information or contact teacher & Go Green leader Kat Peters.

Walnut Grove Roots & Shoots Club
Open to 3-5 grade students, the Roots & Shoots Club meets afterschool on the last Tuesday of each month and promotes service learning projects that encourage care & concern for animals, the environment, and the human community. Please see the Roots & Shoots Permission Slip for more information or contact teacher & Go Green leader Kat Peters.

Reduce Junk Mail Catalogs catalog choice

Join others in choosing which catalogs arrive in your mailbox by registering at Catalog Choice! This service is less than a year old but is already making a huge difference in the number of catalogs being thrown away. Check it out!

Recycling
Check out how much your classroom has earned by recycling so far this year in Recycling Results. On Spirit/Recycling Day, usually the last Friday of the month (check the calendar), bring your items in a bag labeled with your teacher's name to the front of the school.

Recycling "Rules"!
* DRINK containers only, please. If you didn’t DRINK what was originally contained in the plastic or aluminum, DO NOT bring it
* NO MILK containers of any kind
* Separate Aluminum from PLASTIC no matter how small each bag might be
* Mark all bags with teacher’s name
* RINSE your containers

If you have questions, contact Recycling Chairperson Linda Pipe.
